LINDA ZIMMER
President and CEO
Linda Zimmer is president and CEO of MarCom:Interactive, serving an international clientele of corporate, non-profit and public brands. She is a recognized expert at modernizing marketing, communications and branding for contemporary audiences and social trends. She sits on the Advisory Board at Web Wise Kids and is a consulting council member with the Gerson Lehrman expert network.
Linda is spearheading the expansion of the acclaimed Modern Mediasphere™ seminar series into the formation of the Modern Media Institute to provide professional development in social media practices and ethics for marketers, communicators and agency professionals. She is among a cadre of innovators employing virtual worlds for business innovation, training, and marketing communications. On that specific topic, she writes a popular weblog, Business Communicators of Second Life and holds business-oriented conferences in virtual spaces. Linda is often interviewed about social media and virtual worlds, including outlets such as US News and World Report, Computer Weekly, and Forrester Research.
Ms. Zimmer has more than 25 years of experience in using contemporary media for marketing and reputation management, with recent projects for Johnson & Johnson, the FDA, Nike, Heinz, Hyatt, Nokia, U.S. Forestry Services, Taco Bell, and as a consultant to top public relations and advertising agencies. Committed to education, she recently assisted National University in the U.S. with developing their School of Communications and New Media.
Linda is an award-winning speaker and writer. She presents frequently at both technology and marketing industry conferences, and as a guest lecturer at colleges and universities. She publishes extensively on the Web and writes for business, technology and marketing trade publications.
Prior to establishing MarCom:Interactive, Linda negotiated the merger of her Internet consultancy, Telegraph Landing with Electronic Media Communications where she acted as President of New Media Services and focused on the convergence of video and audio with the Web. There she strategized and implemented online media and promotional campaigns for clients such as Ernest & Young; Star Trek, The Experience; Paramount Parks; Ericsson; Princess Cruises; Mazda and architected hundreds of brand web sites. She pioneered some of the first audio and video webcasts with clients such as PriceWaterhouse Coopers and the Recording Industry of America.
Linda has spent considerable time with technology as well. As a network consultant and analyst for the Synthesis Group, she has managed web and desktop application development, network administration, database specification and programming. For more than 13 years, Linda shared her expertise as an evening faculty member, teaching Information Systems to thousands of college students. She holds a lifetime college teaching credential. She has developing curriculum and faculty training programs in the use of modern technology and applications in the classroom. Linda co-authored a college textbook on office automation and acted as editor for several others.
Linda has three sons, is a big fan of the writers of Grey’s Anatomy, has a passion for great design, and works for the fun of it. |
